Kids for the Bay – Landfill Excavation

Way back on December 16th, 2009, we built our own landfills-in-a-bottle and on January 29th, we finally excavated them! We found that NOTHING happened to almost all of the different types of trash we buried, which was the whole point of this activity. The more we do the 4 Rs, the more we can keep things from going into the landfill (where they can’t decompose, and ultimately, they’ll just take up space)!
